About Me
Hello silly ponies! I'll pretty much talk to anyone about anything at anytime (though I usually just leave this tab open and forget about it, so I might take some time to respond), but I am relatively shy on here, so if you feel like talking at all, don't hesitate to send me a message or post on my wall. I can also give you my Skype or Steam info if you'd like it; just ask and I will more than likely tell you unless I have a good reason not to. :3

OC INFO

Name: Thomas L. Equinas

Age: 23 (in human years)

Gender: Stallion

Species: Unicorn

Profession: Royal ambassador to the Griffon Empire

Physical Description: I am slightly shorter and thinner than most other stallions. I have dark blue fur with a gray mane and tail and emerald eyes. Though I am always clean shaven, my mane and tail sometimes become long and unkempt (however, they remain quite soft). I often wear distinguished outfits when going into town or attending social events, but even when I do not, I still make an effort to appear, for the most part, clean and presentable.

Cutie Mark: A scroll with a feather quill

Interests: Griffons, history and lore, intellectual conversation, formal events, studying and learning, reading in his library, writing, political debates, astronomy, leisurely strolls, spell casting, fencing

Biography: There have long been rumors that I was born and raised in the harsh lands of the Griffon Empire for my entire childhood, or that my parents were slaughtered when I was an infant and I was taken in by wild griffons who raised me as their own, but these stories are indeed quite far from the truth. I was born and raised in Canterlot just as many other ponies were, attending Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns at a young age and studying all various types of magic. It was not until my eighth birthday that my father, Equestria’s official royal ambassador to the Griffon Empire, took me on a journey that would change my life. Dad would often depart for weeks or months on official business and leave me and my younger brother at home with our mother, but this time he was going to be gone for an extended period: two years. As such, he decided to buy an abode in the Griffon Empire and take his family with him, and although I never really knew what sort of business he was up to with the griffons, I do know that I enjoyed my time there immensely, and wished I could have spent a couple more months…or years…exploring the vast mountain the griffons settled on. While there, my mother continued to instruct me in magic and other basic school subjects, but when I was finished with that, I was free to explore. The griffons we were staying with were good friends with my father, so they made sure I didn’t get into any trouble, but I mostly had free reign of the place. I made friends with the young griffons who lived there, and they taught me all about their homeland, their culture, their history…everything that I wanted to know.

Though we never relocated to the Empire again after we returned from this expedition, I always attempted to accompany my father on future trips, and more often than not he allowed me to (much to the chagrin of my mother, who wanted me to stay in Celestia’s School and practice my magic). I must have gone to the Empire a dozen more times before I reached my eighteenth birthday and said farewell to my parents. At that point, I was unsure of what I was going to do…Equestria had been my homeland for year and years, but I didn’t feel like I really belonged there. I knew where I belonged, and I made up my mind to travel there immediately. However, mere hours before I left for Manehatten to book passage on a ship to the Griffon Empire, I received a royal summons from Princess Celestia herself! When I arrived, Princesses Celestia and Luna informed me that my father had just stepped down from his position as royal ambassador and announced his plans to retire in Baltimare. Equestria was now without an ambassador to the Griffon Empire, but Celestia told me that she had engaged in a long discussion with my father and that they had both been observing my progress throughout the years, as well as my passion for the griffons. To my utter shock and delight, Celestia offered me the available post as ambassador to the Griffon Empire due to my firsthand experience and knowledge, and I immediately accepted.

The next few weeks were filled with endless amounts of technical paperwork, meetings with many very old ponies who were mostly surprised and irritated that Celestia was giving such an important role to a young pony such as myself, and private meetings with the princesses where the job description and all its various assets were laid out for me to see. I was given a very large house in Canterlot less than three minutes from the palace as well as a salary which, frankly, paid more than I everything I had ever earned combined in about one month. In a couple more months, I was off to the very land I was about to run away to, and when I arrived, I was greeted warmly by all of the griffon nobles who knew my father well and had seen me at least a couple of times in the past. Because of my relations and my knowledge, I was able to easily find solutions and compromises regarding whatever issues or misunderstandings the Equestrian folk and the griffons experienced, and despite my constant travelling back and forth between the two countries, I had never been happier.

It is now five years later, and very little has changed. I still live in the same old mansion in Canterlot, its bookcases now crammed with pony and griffon literature alike and its walls adorned with trophies and relics from the griffons. I continue to travel to the Empire when necessary, and although there have been a few difficult scenarios, nothing has seriously damaged my (or Equestria’s) relationship with any of the Empire’s most important griffons. I am considered one of Equestria’s highest ranking officials and am always invited to attend upper-class social events such as the Grand Galloping Gala, though I rarely attend them (although the Gala is usually very pleasant). Perhaps when I become too old for this job, I will take one last boat over to the Empire, where I will spend the remainder of my days. It may be too early to be thinking about that, but it never hurts to be ready.

REAL LIFE INFO

Name: Vince

Age: 19 (barely)

Occupation: Full time college student and Teacher's Assistant

Religion: Progressive Christianity

Sexuality: Gay/Bi with an extremely strong preference for males (however, I am not very sexual and am romantically attracted to both sexes)

Hobbies: Writing, philosophy, listening to music, academics, ponies, mythology and folklore, history, animals, studying different religions, certain television shows and video games (I am very picky about what I watch/play.)

Physical thingies: I'm around 6'0" and 155 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Maybe I'll post a picture here if I ever feel the need to.

I'm a 19-year-old college student junior majoring in English and working as a TA for a philosophy professor. I really don't have anything or anyone that I'm really attached to in life right now; I'm just sort of rolling through school and goofing off whenever I don't have to write a paper or work. I'm incredibly shy and socially awkward, and I have a very difficult time carrying conversations in real life, which is one reason why I spend a lot of time on the internet. I generally love to talk, especially to new people, on sites like this or Skype (I'll send you my contact info if you ask for it!), but I'm very nervous about doing things such as voice calling, meeting up IRL, and so on.

Thank you for reading (if any of you actually got this far) and have a pleasant day!

Is that chat room still around anywhere?

Sowwy It wasn't really meant to be a bandwagon thing, I just wanted to make a pun on the word bandwagon. I'm stupid like that.

And yes, they did. They have another new one now, too.

Jester is online.
Alestorm has a bit too much folk for me. Plus the vocalist's voice is just terrible for ballads, which they have one of. However, the vocalist for the band Grave Digger (German metal band), has a similar singing style yet it works with slower songs.

I can certainly see why you'd think that way; they're become a bit too satirical even for me with their newer albums. The vocalist/keyboardist has a side project called Gloryhammer which is a symphonic power metal band. It has a different vocalist and orchestrations instead of folk but otherwise it ...

Megadeth would be higher on my list if Dave Mustaine wasn't such a trash talking scumbag.
